TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Novice Program / Private Driving Lessons (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced)
Students who enroll in the novice program at 15 years and 8 months of age must provide a valid permit within one month of their 16th birthday to keep their classroom experience and deposit. Please note that obtaining the permit is the student’s responsibility. Western Driving School is not responsible for contacting a student for their permit information.
Booking: All novice and private lessons must be booked through our website or via phone. Please provide accurate information when booking.
Rebooking: If you cannot attend any booked class or driving lesson you must notify the office at least 3 business days prior to your booked date. If you are moving classes there will be a $25 move free to transfer to the next available class.
Payment: $200 deposit for classroom lessons is required in advance. Full payment for in-car lessons is required, partial payments can be made for the in-car lessons under special conditions by calling our office at 709-639-7925. We accept payments through e-transfer and PayPal.
Refund: Classroom deposits are non refundable regardless the time of payment. Any instructional hour refunds will be prorated based on the amount of hours used within your given package.
Timeline: Novice customers must finish all classroom and in-car lessons within one year of starting online classes. Private students must complete their in-car lessons within 1 year of initial booking. Those who do not schedule their in-car training within this amount of time will forfeit their training and will not be entitled to a refund. The novice and private programs have a 0 tolerance policy for no shows, if you do not attend class or in-car lessons and do not follow the outlined rebooking criteria you are not eligible for a refund or transfer of class.
Specialty Programs (ADT, SHIP, Responsible Driver Course, Point Reduction Course, Defensive Driving Course)
Booking: All specialty programs must be booked through our website or via phone.
Rebooking: If you cannot attend any booked specialty course you must notify the office no later than 3 business days prior to the booked class date, otherwise you do not meet the rebooking criteria. If you are moving classes there will be a $25 move fee to transfer to the next available class.
Payment: Full payment of the course is required upon booking. Partial payments can be made under special conditions by contacting our office at 709-639-7925.
Refund: When one of the specialty courses above have been booked and confirmed by Western Driving School no refund will be issued for the booked classroom as it may disrupt the flow of classes.
Timeline: Specialty courses have a 0 tolerance policy, if you no show to a booked class without following the outlined rebooking criteria you are not eligible for a refund or transfer of class.
Hourly Lessons & 2 hour Assessment
Booking: All hourly lessons and 2 hour assessments must be booked through our website or via phone.
Rebooking: If you cannot attend your hourly lessons or 2 hour assessment you must notify the office no later than 3 business days prior to the booked date(s), otherwise you do not meet the rebooking criteria. If you are moving classes there will be a $25 move fee to transfer to the next available class.
Payment: Full payment of the course is required upon booking. Partial payments can be made under special conditions by contacting our office at 709-639-7925.
Refund: 2 Hour Assessments are non-refundable once booked and confirmed. Hourly lesson refunds will be prorated based on the amount of hours used deducted from the total hours paid for.
Student Responsibilities
Eligibility: Students must hold a valid learner's permit or meet the eligibility requirements to take driving lessons as per local laws.
Conduct: We expect all students to be punctual, respectful, and ready to learn. Disruptive behavior or failure to follow instructions may result in termination of the lesson without refund.
Requirements: Students must wear appropriate footwear and attire during driving lessons. High heels, flip-flops, or other inappropriate clothing will prevent you from driving.
Instructor Availability
Instructor Substitution: Occasionally, your scheduled instructor may be unavailable. In such cases, we will offer a suitable substitute or reschedule the lesson as needed.
Lesson Duration: Each lesson lasts approximately 2 hours. If you arrive late, your lesson time may be shortened to accommodate other scheduled students.
Vehicle Use
Vehicle Responsibility: Students are required to drive only with our licensed vehicles during lessons. The vehicles are insured, but you are responsible for any damage caused by improper use or violation of traffic laws.
Insurance Coverage: Our vehicles are fully insured, but students must not engage in reckless behavior that might void the insurance.
Privacy & Data Protection
Personal Information: We collect personal information to process your booking, provide lessons, communicate with you, communicate with the Department of Motor Vehicle Registration, and for legal purposes. This information will not be shared with third parties unless required by law. By booking with us, you consent to our privacy policy.
Behavior & Conduct
Respectful Behavior: We expect students to act respectfully towards instructors and others during lessons. Any form of verbal abuse, inappropriate behavior, or refusal to follow instructions may result in immediate cancellation of the lesson.
Substance Use: Students who appear intoxicated or under the influence of drugs will not be permitted to take lessons and will forfeit the lesson.
Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes will be posted on our website, and the updated terms will take effect as soon as they are published.
